Never let a human do the job of a machine

Things I did today:

  • woke up
  • put fresh-from-the-box contacts in
  • realized I can’t see with contacts in
  • discovered that the box has the wrong numbers on it for my prescription, cursed
  • put glasses back on and tried to come up with the central argument for a presentation
  • gave up and went to class
  • went to group meeting about presentation
  • ate lunch
  • took nap, after which the fog cleared!!
  • called Kaiser, horrified woman promised to expedite shipping me my real prescription, implied it wouldn’t have happened if I called the order in to the system rather than talking to a salesperson
  • called Mom, told her that it was all sorted out, discussed last week’s Bones
  • went to class, gave presentation x1
  • told that this was “practice” and we have to do it all over again Thursday
  • tried to listen to professor ramble, instead focused on keeping my spine stacked
  • went to and enjoyed pilates
  • wished I was of legal age to enjoy a glass of wine after a frustrating 36 hours, remembered that I still have to do homework for tomorrow morning’s German class

The only part about today that I really don’t like is the fact that I have to do it all again tomorrow. My intro to International Studies professor is definitely out to kick our asses. Oi.

Oh right, knitting—

Since I did do at least a LITTLE bit of knitting over the last two weeks without a camera cord, there is going to be a modest parade of finished objects. I can’t decide if I want to do three days of finished objects, and then what I’m currently working on, or do the WIP sometime in between. But then again, that is going to be a long post… Maybe I should hold off on that ’til Friday just because I’m pretty busy as it is. (Whoa, school. Busy already?? I’m a little shocked still.)

In any case, ta-da! Completely Finished Glittens:

I like them a lot better now that they’re finished. And I hope my ex-roommate likes them too.

The Glitten Factory (Ravelry):
Pattern: Urban Necessity Gloves, with a few modifications to the mitten cap.
Yarn: Cascade 220. Gotta love this yarn. In fact I want a sweater out of it. Where oh where is a sweater for me out of Cascade 220?
Needles: US5 DPNs for ribbing, US6 DPNs for the rest. Which is 3.75mm and 4.25mm respectively. Yes, my DPN-6s are bitter than normal. (I think. Something is.)

Tonight I get to go to my school’s Stitch ‘n Bitch! And I have knitting to bring! I’m looking forward to that a lot.

Love the mittens!!! And can’t wait for the crazyness of school (it means I’m not working at my CRAPPY summer retaill job)! I don’t wear glasses, so at least that shouldn’t be a problem for me. Projects……..we’ll see how they go.
I finally got (a) picture up on my blog…and there will be more to come!!

I like the glittens! They look nice and warm and very cheery. Good luck with the homework … I’m ignoring mine at the moment. Since it’s not for a class, it’s easy to forget.

I think you gave me your cold. D: jk!

Anyway, good luck getting things done – and at least you have time to do things like pilates. ;_; *so busy*

You sound so much better with some knitting on the go than before its arrival in the mail!

Lots of work and ouch on the contacts. That really sucks and I know since I wear them too. Got a question for you… Can I give my friend a link to your blog? I know she likes knitting stuff and think she would like reading this.
Btw, you could always knit me stuff. I love things like that and think you do a great job. Oh yes, the socks are still so cool and loved!
