I have been TRYING to get back to the blog — you know, a few last posts before I leave possibly for forever (oh right, still need a travel blog set up…). I’ve got a few posts lined up in my head still. But I realized yesterday, with my aunt and uncle coming to visit to see me one last time before I head off on my great adventure, that I needed to finish off their socks, and my own last projects that have been hanging over my head the last few months. Because what I really need to get interested in knitting again is something new and exciting.
So! I’ll have to post pictures of the sweater that’s been finished forever some other time. Now I have pictures of socks:
Kind of mesmerizing, aren’t they? For a men’s size 10.5 foot, they sure went fast. That’s what I love about stranded patterns. They really suck you in.
Here, the short-row heel that I dislike so much. It seems to have worked out in the end though.
firey stripes (Ravelry):
Pattern: Fair Isle Pattern#2 (I think) from Sensational Knitted Socks by Charlene Schurch. Love that book.
Yarn: Lang Jawoll Superwash Solid in red, yellow, and white
Needles: KnitPicks nickel-plated ones… oh great, I didn’t write down in Ravelry what size they were. I’m screwed. They don’t write the sizes on the KnitPicks needles. Why don’t they?!? I don’t have a needle sizer either. UGH. This is a problem that will have to wait until July then.
Next up:
My new pumpkin colored mystery cable socks.
Halloween Mystery Sock (Ravelry):
Pattern: TTL Mystery Sock, 64st. cable version
Yarn: ShibuiKnits Sock, color 1675, or as I affectionately call it “pumpkin”. They were started in October for Socktoberfest, after all.
All right. If I can find some time tomorrow I’ll have either resolutions, review of the last year a lá Rebee, or the sweater I finished in November and never got around to photographing.
Or I could stress out too much over packing and not post. And then not post for a month. Or six. Who knows? (So.stressed.out.about.packing.and.leaving.the.country. also.I.Need.to.set.up.travel.blog.)
Ahhhhhh, socks! I like the Halloween Mystery socks. They look so cozy and orange is the best color. Best.
No stressing. Period.
Oh, winter socks! So pretty! :P I really love the first design – the one with the red and white ‘stripes’.
Speaking of which, I do need some winter socks about right now – shall go hunt in the shops sometime soon – for my trip to Hong Kong next week! :P
Happy New Year to you Steph! May many more pretty knitting projects come your way!

Ohmigoodness those socks look so COMFY. I must steal this and tell my mother to make me some right now. Haha.
The socks are so pretty! Have fun in Europe. And don’t stress. Save that for dealing with German bureaucracy.
