Didn’t see this coming.

If you told me three days ago that I’d be spending a good portion of the next two days digging in the garden, I would have laughed and told you you had the wrong Stephanie. While I’ve been dreaming of putting in an herb garden in the little patch of dirt next to the clothesline, I was fairly certain that this dream, like most of mine that involve actual work, would end in the planning stage and turn then into fantasy. It was even getting very close to that point.

And then, I found myself in the garden, digging. I think it was the influence of the eco-freaks and heavy gardeners. I mean, why else would everything just click and I’d be out back? I think it also helped that I jogged/walked four laps yesterday and never ran out of breath. !!!

Empty plot

I wish I had a “before” picture. Suffice it to say, this little plot of land had a LOT of weeds and a very unattractive, very sturdy plant. Most of the digging was trying to figure out how to get that plant out. In the end physics won: using the shovel as a lever. Ha! I can do physics.

Funny, I am a girl glued to her computer. And yet here in this last week of being home I feel like I have to move, move, go, before I go back to feeling chained to textbooks and laptop. Not such a bad thing, but really, could my timing be ANY worse?

Also, I keep meaning to send some letters. Do me a favor and read about the who/what/where/when/why/how while I go off to ride some roller coasters for the afternoon. ‘Til later!

Ah, I didn’t realize you had posted a blog entry about this! I reiterate what I said – this is a great idea and I’m incredibly jealous. I’m not hungry anymore though, thank goodness, so the picture of that nice spot of dirt isn’t looking as tasty now as it would have this afternoon. :P

I hate politicians. Not all of them, but most. They look good and sound good, but when you really get them in office they surprise you half the time. Not saying I was surprised about Bush, but I’m still wary when it comes to politicians in general.

Awesome!!! I’m sure it felt good, too! And what will feel even better is planting the herbs in the spot you created for them. : ) Hooray!

Hey, have you checked out my blog today? Come on over – got somethin’ for ya.

Hey wait, did you just call me an eco-freak? LOL!
