BSJ Progress

I decided to upload a couple pictures of BSJ in progress, because it is a weird construction and I personally wish there were more pictures of how it’s supposed to look while progressing.

All laid out in progress

This is how it looks laid flat. The left side is the first 3 and a little of the 4th repeats of the chart A cable pattern attached to the round knitting. I really wish this pattern had more pictures so I didn’t have to figure this out by doing.

And how it will look when it’s standing up. I am in LOVE with the first cable pattern. So cool looking. Reminds me of atomic structures, actually. Or Greek symbols. Something like that. No wonder it was originally a “quantum mechanics assignment”.

I do have a few gripes though, but I’ll talk about them in the FO post. (Which will be soon. Ahhh, hats. I love you. Such a nice little break from everything else, you are. And you have cables. Oh cables. We should never part.)

My mom ordered a laptop case/cooling pad for me today, because the computer is getting hotter and hotter, especially with the heat of the house, and it’s uncomfortable to have on my lap. Plus, I’ve needed a case. I tried to wait until Christmas to ask for it, even if I hate getting presents for Christmas, but I need it now. Maybe it can count as my first-ever half-birthday present. Ha ha ha. I hate spending money because I personally have such a small amount of it, an ever-decreasing amount as I spend but do not really earn (yet). I’m also anti-clutter and try time and again to get my mom to stop buying me Christmas presents, especially trinkets that I don’t need or want. But so long as I use my laptop in my room, I’ll need this. And it’s orange. Hopefully it won’t be cheaply made.

Today I made iced tea and forgot it was there later, when it was hot and I could have used it.

My laptop has that issue. It’s been shutting off more frequently due to the heat here in the summer. The only thing I can say about cooling systems is that although they do help – my Belkin weird fan thing is usually quiet but god is it a hassle and renders my laptop without the “lap” if you know what I mean. My husband found best results by placing the huge tower fan we have near the laptop vent. The best thing to do imho is to make sure your next laptop has a really powerful built in cooling system. Also it helps to not let it sit on any one surface for too long.

Oh and I got so carried away I forgot to say… very wicked. Too bad we can’t use something like that here in this heat :P Very trendy.

I have a similar need for lots of pics if I’m going to work a pattern. I’ve tried saving $$ when copying patterns at the library (copywrite does allow this with library books) by leaving out the photo pages and without pictures the pattern is just useless to me!

Wow. The hat looks very interesting, indeed. I might just have to try one out … and your pictures will be very helpful!
