It’s been nearly a week since I posted and no one’s screaming yet? Whoa.
It is REALLY easy to give this up when the inspiration isn’t striking, I guess. Maybe not inspiration, exactly, but energy. I need to find my energy again.
This morning I woke up on the wrong side of the bed, literally. I punched my thumb into the wall (thereby truly waking myself up) before realizing I was trying to get out of bed on the wrong side. Guess why it’s the wrong side. Yeah, then I turned around and got out of bed on the right side. And then I held onto my thumb and realized that this was Not Going To Be A Good Day.
And, really, I know that whether something is good or bad is just a reflection of how positively you look at it, but the rest of the day seemed to reinforce my bleak outlook in one way or another.
Maybe this is why I stopped writing for almost a week. Huh.
So a great idea I’ve had recently (how many great ideas have I had recently?) is that it would be so much fun to bake muffins (or bread, cookies) at 1am. AKA Why I Need To Live In A House Next Year.
Last weekend was fall break! Four days off of school. We get all of 4 days extra (fall break and Thanksgiving) off during our grueling winter semester, but about a 5 week break in January (usually). What I did instead of grand plans was knit a lot. A lot a lot. Here’s one thing I worked on:
It fits! It needs to be bound off, ends woven in, and washed and blocked. And then I have a new sweater! … and three pairs of socks to knit. But I have a new sweater!
Maybe I’ll search for some yarn for mittens when this is done. Apparently one CAN have too many socks on the needles.
I bake cake all the time now. Well, sort of baking. Anyway, it’s fun being able to do what you want when you want. :D
And, you know this already, but I will repeat: I love that sweater.
That sweater is stunning! (I love horizontal cables…)
Strangely, I got out of the wrong side of the bed today but nothing happened. (As in, I was generally moody initially, but things cleared up considerably as the day progressed.)
And the sweater looks good! Love the stiching, and the design of it! Do let us see a picture of it when it’s fully completed! ;)
I’m so impressed with you folks that knit. The sweater design is lovely.
I was baking banana bread last night at 10:30 pm. I didn’t get the crockpot dish for breakfast together until about 11! (That’s late for me. When you get old, you’ll understand…)
Ooooo, pretty!
We haven’t had any breaks yet. I think I get a day for Thanksgiving (technically, it’s more, but only one day that affects me), and Veteran’s day, but I’m going to the Deaf School.
If you got a house for next year, I would TOTALLY come out. We could do Thanksgiving, even!
Oh, must finish up, I’m teaching a class at the shop at 6:30.
Oooo that cable and the way that sweater fits is wicked! Nice, nice job. BTW re your comment on my blog – slip stitch colourwork is too easy for words – much easier than that cabling would have been!
Great sweater!
That is so totally cute. I’m jealous.
