Fall break occurred last weekend and I flew off for a weekend of fun, games, and some knitting with a good friend. The friend doesn’t knit, but I tried to make up for that.
Yes. I’m doing it! I’m knitting a shawl! Ishbel, to be exact. The small version. I was really surprised how quickly it’s gone by. Maybe the five hours of Star Trek: The Next Generation or so on DVD helped that along.
One discovery: No matter what I shouldn’t try to knit this at night. Even if I say I’m not tired, I really am, and then I make mistakes and don’t know what I’m doing. It’s always smooth smooth sailing during the day, but around 9pm I can’t seem to figure out why it’s not going right. Not so cool.
That’s why I have this…
I’m really late to the game this time but I thought I could go through Socktober without knitting a new pair of socks. Yeah. Shows how infallible I am. Apparently I need socks on the needles like I need oxygen. (And I saw the most amazing Mystery Sock on the Internet. I wish I’d bookmarked it.) So when I bought needles for the shawl I also bought this beautiful Malabrigo sock yarn. There are no words to describe it. None at all. The most perfect color and the most endearing yarn. Also the price wasn’t too bad, else I wouldn’t have bought it.
I can see some further acquisitions of this yarn in my future.
So there’s my knitting update! It’s currently Saturday and sunny and I think I’m going to curl up and watch more TV and knit some more. Have a great day!

Those socks really do look squishy delicious!
Very pretty projects – love the colors of both!
