Weekly Update #1

Apparently I can only post once a week.

Picture of a sock.

But at least I can post good in-progress pictures once a week. There! A sock! A second one is started. I love this sock yarn. And this pattern. Lots and lots of love. Also, good way to get into Summer of Socks.

I’m not sure if it’s the hunger for knowledge I’ve had lately (I went to the library today, two days after picking up 3 books, took two books back, and somehow found seven books right away that I wanted to take home with me and devour) or the heat: yesterday it got up to 88F in the house. My brain is mush, as usual. But not so much of mush that I can’t read or knit. (Or write letters!)

Blogging is sporadic, as usual.

Welcome back to this side of the Atlantic! I’ve been out of town at the cottage, where I’m headed back tomorrow and I’ve decided to write letters while I stay mostly up there between now and the end of August! There is no internet, no cell coverage, no TV, we have a phone but its a party line so really its an ideal time to dedicate to the written letter! I had the idea last week and right away thought I must remember to thank you for the inspiration!

Congrats on the sock – it does look great – I’m also in a bit of sock frenzy – probably because its been such a cool spring and summer here so far my feet are constantly cold!

I really love that sock! The yarn is so perfect for the pattern. Happy reading!

Sometimes, we just have these moments where we are just hungry for knowledge. Or sometimes, we become so bored that eventually … one activity can lead to another activity without us realizing it. (Superimposing your scenario to my online life – one minute, I can be surfing blogs and the next minute, I’ll be on scientific websites reading about hurricanes and tornadoes because I just ‘felt like it’. :P)

And although I seem to be saying the same thing for all your knitting projects – PRETTY SOCKS. (I really mean it. :P)

You and I need to email more often. I’m kind of a failure at keeping in touch but do know that I have a draft email in my inbox all for you! Haha

I’m so jealous that you have time to pursue knowledge. I’ve just been working so much =/ You should write a review of the books you’ve been reading one of these days! :)
