March? April? What?

Quick question, who said it was allowed to be April already?? Life has turned me upside-down and inside-out and definitely not blogging. Which kind of sucks, because writing in general is a great stress-buster. And I could definitely use some of those. As it is I’m kind of inhaling chocolate and cake, and… really, not that great for me. (Or my reputation. Getting just a little tired of being the predictable cake monster.)

But next week is the beginning of two weeks of glorious break, do you know what that means? A trip to London and Edinburgh, then time to write a paper, then a trip to Munich. My camera batteries are charged and I am super excited. Even with the new-found crick in my neck.

I guess my blog goals during that time should be “begin abroad blog” and “take pictures of witchy socks and post”. Because really. It’s been long enough.

The problem with knitting, you see, is that it’s turning into glorious Spring, and I just want to shed as many layers as possible—not create more. I still have a vest and some wristwarmers planned, but the way it’s looking in Vienna, I don’t really need either. (Why am I going to London when it’s getting up into the 70s in Vienna?!) So the knitting, yeah, not so much. There is more poetry racing through my mind than garment plans.

And letters. Did you know that April is National Card and Letter Writing Month? I’m not entirely sure how I want to celebrate it. Anger at the Austrian Post has kind of slowed down my postcard sending. They just don’t seem to get things through quickly. Still, I have to do something, right? I keep buying stationery and stickers. Time to send postcards again. Make some penpals in Austria.

Notice that I can’t stay on topic today? I’m tired of that. I read another blogger comment on it and realized that I don’t want to be stuck to one topic all the time. I’m a complex person, shouldn’t the posts I write illustrate that? Right?!

One last thing. 37days, which I only learned about through this challenge it’s issuing, wants you to do one thing for yourself for 37 days. Promise yourself you’ll do something every day, and keep yourself to that promise. I’m not sure if this will work while I’m traveling, but when I’m not, my promise is to either stretch or do pilates every single day. I’ve been doing pretty good since I made that promise, and I can tell my abs are getting better once I regained the focus. Which I somehow lost when I got to Vienna. But I have it back now, I hope.

I am so tired. Flying away to London tomorrow. Til next week!

Oh, I’d like to go to England….I have been re-reading Pride & Prejudice for a class (as well as knitting a cardigan named after the heroine…).
Still, it’s not horrible here or anything. It’s all green, and the trees are starting to bloom here on campus, and the tree outside my window has the beginnings of leaves.

It’s National Card and Letter Writing Month? That means I need to send out a few this month then.
As usual, I’m jealous. It’s in the 40s in Seattle and you’re in warm Vienna and you’re going to London and Edinburgh? No, please don’t complain! Haha I’m kidding. I won’t even say have fun because I bet you will BUT please do take lots of pictures for us bloggers stuck in the US. :P I mean, I guess I shouldn’t complain too much because the cherry blossoms at the UW (where I go) are actually in full bloom right now but the weather is depressing me!

Hey, I have an idea! Maybe while you’re in England you can take a bunch of pictures and then set up a BLOG for your adventures in Europe! Man, that would be awesome. You could have it at … oh, I dunno, say http://abroad.lunsh.net/...

Happy break! Spring and summer knits are always difficult … maybe you could put poetry on your knitting? (Kinda like this http://www.lisaanneauerbach.com/index.html)
