Whoa, that went faster than expected

Why hello all! Sorry to leave everyone hanging for over a week. Been sooo busy. I can’t even say I’ve been knitting — I knitted the first couple of days, said, “oh, I’ll be doing this a lot I think,” then went on to have a supremely busy end of the week wherein I finished dinner at 9:30 and went to bed at 10. wie verrückt.

It’s a good thing I’m hanging out with people who speak German and English, because whenever I switch to English I can’t seem to get German phrases out of my head.

So here’s a picture of what I knitted before life became insane:

night sky of Berlin

Hmm. It’s black. Oh wait! Sorry guys, that’s the night sky over Berlin. I can’t show you what I’m knitting anyway. I mean, I’m not sure I’m allowed to. So I won’t. Sigh.

It’s FREEZING in Berlin though, so there’s a lot of handknit wearing if not knitting. And all this freezing might make me take up the needles again. (time to go to a yarn store!) Actually I just need to decide on patterns. I want a new hat and new mittens. Need to get that figured out.

There will be a lot more posting at my new travel blog once it’s up (airports! snow! Reichstag und Potsdam!), so once it is – please check it out! I’m currently writing up posts to get up once it is up. In the meantime, I’m making sure my Facebook albums are uploaded. I don’t have internet in the apartment yet, so things are going a bit slower internet-wise…

How great to hear you made it and you’re settling in! Why not just shift this blog to a travel version rather than fiddle to make a new one?

Ahhh. I envy your being on another continent right now. Okay, it’s not that bad. Also, I would be LOST in Berlin, seeing as I don’t speak German.
I second above comment about turning this into a travel blog. Maybe because I want to see pictures!!!

Yikes! I’d better get that subdomain up asap! I can’t WAIT to see pictures … :D

I’m not sure about posting pictures, either. I’ve never done this before, so…

I have thought about just putting it up on Rav as a free pattern instead of trying to get it on knitty.

You know, I was looking forward to seeing what you knitted and all I saw was … a black box. Hahaha. Nice trick, though.

For a moment, I thought the image didn’t load properly and was inclined to refresh my browser … until I read the next paragraph.

While it’s freezing on your side, it’s pretty hot where I am. I miss the wintry weather in Hong Kong, though.

Oooh… I’ve always wanted to go to Germany. I’m so jealous that you’re in Berlin! I even went through a phase of trying to learn German by myself… I only remember a few phrases and words but I think it’s so amazing that you’re living there and will probably be able to pick up the language ;)
